Dr. Sonya Waselenko is excited to be joining Dr. Moore and Dr. Trotter at 2032 Dentistry in July
2024.  Dr. Sonya is originally from Peterborough. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree
at Queen’s University in 2019 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2023.

During her dental studies, Sonya was an active member of the student council and a
mentor to incoming students. Sonya has also engaged in humanitarian outreach programs,
including a mission trip to Grenada to offer dental care to under-served communities.
 

Dr. Sonya is a general dentist with a passion toward pediatric care. Following her dental degree, she completed a one-year residency at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. This residency allowed her to gain invaluable experience treating pediatric and adult patients with complex
medical and dental needs. Sonya worked closely with the SickKids pediatric and orthodontic dental team to create treatment plans for individuals with craniofacial anomalies. Sonya also
spent time working at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, caring for
patients with developmental and intellectual disabilities, such as autism and Down Syndrome.

Her time at SickKids provided her with a unique learning experience that will continue to define
her approach to dentistry and patient care.
 

Sonya loves the outdoors and enjoys going for runs and walks with her golden retrievers, Sunny
and Duggy as well as spending time on the water in her kayak or canoe.
Dr. Sonya is passionate about dentistry and actively seeks out opportunities for professional growth, whether through continuing education courses, conferences, or hands-on experiences.
 

She is excited to grow her dental career in the city she grew up in.
